Finding a Balance

Finding a Balance

Acknowledging there is no magic cure and focusing on finding a balance, not only helps from a physical perspective, but also facilitates the transition away from the unwanted thought processes and patterns that have become an integral part of our daily lives.

We live in a busy and stressful world and many of us are time compromised when it comes to our breakfast, lunch and dinner times, so having access to a vast array of indulgent convenience foods in our supermarkets, restaurants and fast food outlets, only serves to further compromise those of us who find staying on the weight control path a challenge. Stress, fatigue and emotional triggers also hinder the objective to stay focused.

Dieting

Dieting

When the decision is made to lose weight, the word ‘diet’ in itself almost instantly puts most of us under a certain amount of pressure to make radical changes to our food intake and to embark on a rigorous exercise programme.

Slimming clubs seem the obvious place to start the process as they can be motivational and offer plenty of tips and advice.

The weight is coming off

The weight is coming off

"Wendy has guided us to think before we eat. I have found that where I used to pick in between meals isn’t happening anymore and I am making better choices.

I don’t weigh myself but I am sure that the weight is coming off and I feel better about myself and the choices I am making. Listening to the relaxation MP3 daily is wonderful!"

Creating New Habits

Creating New Habits

Dieting certainly has its place and is of most benefit if we want to see fast results or if we want to get into that outfit for a special occasion, but can we sustain the ‘slimming club’ mentality in the long term?

It’s a fact that many people have joined slimming clubs on more than one occasion, hence the expression "yo-yo dieting", so therein lies the answer.

Our relationship with food is very much determined by habitual behaviours that have been laid down at a subconscious level and this is where hypnotherapy can make a difference.

Hypnotherapy helps you to focus on what you want to achieve at a subconscious level. By reducing your ‘emotional’ weight you will feel more motivated and focused on creating new habits and replacing them with healthier food and lifestyle choices. This will have a positive effect on both your physical and emotional health.

Healthier Attitude Towards Food

Healthier Attitude Towards Food

Solution focused hypnotherapy will encourage you to make intellectual choices in respect of your dietary intake and will also moderate your relationship with food. This will start the process of making incremental changes so that you are able to move towards sustaining a physical and emotional balance.

Creating new habits that provide you with a healthier attitude towards food choices will not only give you a huge sense of achievement but also the knowledge that you are in control of your life will promote greater confidence and self esteem.
